So honored to receive an Emmy for Nanette.  My gratitude to the Television Academy for recognizing my work, to Netflix for the embrace of my vision & to my team for their humbling faith in me.  If you found strength in Nanette, know that our stories matter; our humanity matters.

Wow. Those are some amazingly heinous plots. Well done, @biogeobiochem’s reproducible data analysis class. You’ve outdone yourselves. https://twitter.com/biogeobiochem/status/1172547846479831040

Come work with us! https://adsteen.github.io/project/permafrost/

If you’re in DC in October, come see me tell a mortifying story about how I once thought the scientific establishment was trying to destroy my career only to discover that actually there are a lot of good people in science and it can be a really nice place to work. :) https://twitter.com/deepcarb/status/1170051958503280640

Seriously. Greengenes was once quite useful, but now it’s Iike trying to use the Rosetta Stone to translate Spanish to English. Please switch to Silva for 16S taxonomic classifications. I will not pick a side about whether you choose a post-@PhilHugenholtz RED release or not. https://twitter.com/phantomBugs/status/1161777088803692545

Creativity during your #PhD goes a long way, however ridiculous your ideas may seem! Turns out Hamster Balls 🐹can legitimately be used to deploy gas sensors at @OlDoinyoLengaiV. Unorthodox but they survived being rolled into an active volcanic crater! @deepcarb @UCLHC @EmmaLiu31
