A rare clip of Basorun MKO Abiola. Did Burnaboy take a cue from this? #DemocracyDay
I’ve not gotten over the migraine I had when I interviewed this man last year 😩 At some point I was confused and didn’t realize what I asked him again 😂😂😂
On this inaugural celebration of #June12 as #DemocracyDay, we thank H.E @MBuhari for rewriting history in celebration of Freedom, Fairness, Equity and Social Justice.
Chief MKO Abiola lives on in our minds and hearts as a hero of Nigeria's democracy.
As Nigeria marks Democracy Day today, how will you describe the nation's democracy in one word? #DemocracyDay
🎥: MKO Abiola's last interview before his death. He was interviewed during his arrest at his home after he declared himself as President after fighting tirelessly to reclaim his mandate as the winner of the June 12, 1993 elections in Nigeria which marks #DemocracyDay today.
This was MKO Abiola speaking 25years ago about the issues of corruption, nepotism, opacity of the NNPC, over-dependence on oil, etc. 2&half decades later, we are still here, probably worse. Those who clapped & stood with him then are the ones enslaving us today. #DemocracyDay 1/2
While October 1st is the day Nigeria became a republic after her first democratic process, May 29th is the official date for celebrating democracy as it is the day them military ruler Gen. Abdusalam Abubakar handed over power to Chief Olusegun Obasanjo.
Happy #DemocracyDay Nigeria.
Thank you H.E @MBuhari for rewriting our history and bringing alive the words of our national anthem.
"The labour of our heroes past.
Shall never be in vain.
To serve with heart and might.
One nation bound in freedom, peace and unity".
MKO Abiola was the 1st Nigeria to loot the nation on a grand scale & this was the genesis of his fortune.
As an accountant representing ITT, he, Obasanjo & the hierachy of the military, inflated the ITT contract to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars.

This man is Yoruba. He ruled for eight years, but he never acknowledged the role of Abiola/June 12 in his emergence as President. He even traveled out & told the world that MKO ABIOLA was not the messiah that Nigeria needed! His name is OLUSEGUN OBASANJO 👇#DemocracyDay
May the soul of our Comrades who made Nigeria's Democracy possible, rest well Thousands of unsung Hero's who gave thier life for Nigeria. Names you never read or hear about. Without them, we won't have a #DemocracyDay

June 12: The key actors👇#DemocracyDay
They want us to remember one man but they don't want us to remember over 3.5million #Biafrans unjustly killed because they said they want #Freedom. You cannot talk about the unity of Nigeria without the injustices meted against the people of #Biafra.
Now that June 12 has been officially recognised as #DemocracyDay, It is only fair to refer to him as Former President MKO Abiola. The true hero of Democracy.
President Muhammadu Buhari is perhaps one of the finest democrats I have seen, because this is a man that believes in the rule of law, and you cannot have democracy without respect for the rule of law. ~El-Yakub Umar. #DemocracyDay
